Old Delhi Motorcycles The Film | Journey
We are very glad with the response that we got from our film, Old Delhi Motorcycles. It was viewed by more than 70,000 people across the globe in 2 weeks. It all started in summers of 2012 when Tanveer Singh decided to get his bullet customized by Bobbee Singh from Old Delhi motorcycles Co.Tanveer came up with the idea of filming and documenting the process of his bike being getting custom look. When he discussed this with me i joined him with the project as well.Soon we were introduced by the old maestros who have dedicated their lives to this motorcycles.Soon this process filming took a shape and got a new direction. We were very much appealed by the life and and deeds of the old people for the machine and that was the point we decided to make a film on them rather just filming the process of one bike getting customized. We went to multiple places in New Delhi to meet these mechanics, denters, painters and other related people in all the weathers. The places were, Mayapuri, Karol Bagh, Fareedabad and few parts of Old Delhi.
We also got to meet the very famous Lalli ji who is well known for bike rentals amongst the foreigners and Indians and quality servicing of Royal Enfield motorcycles. We shot some bike riding sequences with ours and Bobbee’s friends in Chanakayapuri area of delhi to give some modern look and energy to the film, which actually is liked by everyone. The cock fights was another add-on in the film.Apne Lambu painter ji have fighter cocks and he is real crazy about cocks and cock fights we very much liked the stories he shared with us about the cock fights and his paint career.
We showed a rough cut well known music producer and bass master, Nucleya and he really liked the stuff and said that he wants to do a track for the film.We took out Bobbee singh’s voice snippets from the film and gave them to Nucleya and son he came up with a track. The addon to the track was done by Very talented Tumbibeatbreaker who added tumbi in the track. So we had an official track for the film too.We felt no lesser than bollywood film makers by then .Track is same that is played when credits roll.
Overall it was an beautiful experience documenting this film and we learnt a lot about life and film making. We assure you more cool stuff in the future
